Collage

The concern for materiality that travels through varied bodies of work in my practice has at its root a grounding in collage and assemblage. As one of the earliest art forms I explored as a child, it is the hum in the background of my practice, barely perceptible in the finished forms but important nonetheless. No matter what I am doing, collage has always been present, often in works that never make it to the public eye. It is a foundational resource for me, a means of ideation, of recording memory, and of scratching an aesthetic itch that thankfully refuses to ever subside.
